From The Critics
Reviewer: Reza Heshmati, DDS, MPH, MS(Ohio State University)Description: This is the third edition of Pharmacology and Dental Therapeutics. Significant improvement has been made in this new edition.
Purpose: The intent is to provide a brief review of drugs and topics relevant to dental practice.
Audience: This textbook is designed primarily for dental students and instructors. However, it would be a welcome addition to the library of any practitioner and is recommended as a reference for dental clinics.
Features: The authors provide a framework for giving a dental practitioner information and management recommendations. The unit treatments for common dental conditions include discussion of some of the very common dental conditions that require either operative or non-operative (medical) treatment, and the key fact boxes provide a focused review of the content for the reader.
Assessment: Information regarding pharmacology continues to develop at an ever-increasing pace. Advanced technology in medicine and molecular biology has made the subject more important than ever. This book has been revised, updated, and some of its chapters also have been rewritten to keep up with these changes in the technology.
