Author & Illustrator Biographies

Author: Frank Finale has more than three hundred fifty poems and essays published in more than one hundred different books, journals, and magazines. His critically acclaimed coffee table books of essays and poems about the Jersey Shore, "To The Shore Once More" (1999) and "To The Shore Once More, Volume II," (2001), were regional bestsellers.

Mr. Finale has taught elementary school for thirty-eight years and currently teaches at East Dover Elementary School in the Toms River Regional School District in New Jersey. He has done numerous Young Authors' Conferences for many different schools in New Jersey and was named inWho's Who Among America's Teachers: The Best Teachers In America Selected By the Best Students (5th Edition, 1998).

Mr. Finale is a Pisces who has lived by the sea most of his life and currently resides with his wife, Barbara, two cats, and almost too many books in Bayville, New Jersey.

Illustrator: Margie Moore grew up in the seaside town of Belmar, New Jersey. In creating the art for this picture book, she was able to draw upon her childhood memories of beautiful summer days along the Shore and the interesting creatures she encountered there.

In 2001, she illustrated "Count The Ways, Little Brown Bear" by Jonathan London (Dutton ChildrenÕs Books). Ms. Moore still lives at the Jersey Shore with her husband and three daughters, Kelly, Jessica, and Bridget.
