The Eagle

"In his Texas Garden Almanac, Doug Welsh suggests these shade trees for our area-bald cypress, Shumard oak and live oak. Note that live oaks can gorw to well over 60 feet tall and wide. They are best suited to large, expansive sites. Other good choices are Mexican sycamore, Monterrey oak, lace bark elm, Chinese pistache and bur oak."--Charla Anthony, The Eagle

Doug Welsh is an asset to gardeners all over Texas with his friendly and helpful radio show, and his contributions to the Master Gardener program. This book is a treasure trove of information about gardening in Texas. It's organized like a calendar of sorts where each section covers a month.
